Pulitzer: Hanna Wilke

This promotional spot for the Pulitzer Arts Foundation was created to showcase the bold and provocative work of Hannah Wilke in her retrospective exhibition, Art for Life’s Sake. I designed and animated the spot in a modern stop-motion style, drawing on the powerful themes and aesthetics of Wilke’s diverse body of work. Incorporating her sculptures, prints, paintings, and video art, I crafted a cohesive narrative to invite the public into the vibrant world of Wilke’s artistry.

The animation merges her mediums seamlessly, using bold typography with words such as "Provocative," "Empowering," and "Bold" to encapsulate her essence. A powerful percussive music track drives the momentum of the piece, reinforcing the modern, unapologetic spirit of Wilke’s art. Frames transition dynamically, weaving her sculptures and video clips into a striking visual tapestry that underscores her groundbreaking contributions to contemporary art. This engaging approach highlights her fearless exploration of themes like feminism, identity, and transformation, creating an impactful invitation for audiences to experience the exhibition.
